Market Pilot X ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Market Pilot X iOS application and web application at market-pilot.app(collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data. By using the Service you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account Information
When you create a Market Pilot X account — via Apple Sign-In, Google Sign-In, or email/password — we receive and store:
- Your email address
- Your display name (if provided by the identity provider)
- A unique user ID issued by Firebase Authentication — we do not receive your Apple ID or Google account password
When you use Apple Sign-Inand choose "Hide My Email", Apple provides a private relay address. We store only that relay address and do not attempt to reverse it.
1.2 Portfolio & Financial Data
Information you enter into the app — stock symbols, share quantities, cost basis, watchlists, and portfolio notes — is stored locally on your device and, if you are signed in, synced to our Neon PostgreSQL database and Firebase Firestore to enable cross-device access. This data is associated with your user ID.
1.3 Push Notification Token
If you grant notification permission, your device push token (APNs for iOS, FCM registration token for web) is stored in our database. We use it exclusively to deliver price alerts and app updates you have requested. You can revoke permission at any time in your device Settings.
1.4 Subscription & Purchase Data
Subscription status (plan tier, entitlement dates) is managed by RevenueCat. We receive anonymized entitlement data from RevenueCat to determine which features you can access. We do not receive your payment card details or Apple ID billing information — those remain with Apple.
1.5 Usage Analytics
We collect anonymized, aggregated usage analytics through Vercel Analytics. This data includes page views, session duration, and general device/browser type. It does not contain your name, email, portfolio data, or any other personally identifiable information.
We also record the country your requests originate from (derived from your network connection at request time) to understand where our users are located in aggregate. Only the country name is stored — we do not store your IP address, city, or precise location for this purpose.
1.6 Legal Acceptance Records
We record a timestamp and user ID when you accept our Terms & Conditions and Disclaimer. This record is stored in our database to demonstrate consent compliance.
2. How We Use Your Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.
3. Third-Party Services & SDKs
The following third-party services process data on our behalf or in conjunction with the Service:
Firebase (Google LLC)
Used for: Authentication, Firestore database, Cloud Messaging (push notifications)
Firebase Authentication handles identity verification for Apple Sign-In, Google Sign-In, and email/password sign-in. Firebase Firestore stores synced portfolio data. Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) delivers push notifications. Data processed by Firebase is subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
Apple Sign-In (Apple Inc.)
Used for: Account creation and sign-in on iOS
Apple Sign-In lets you authenticate using your Apple ID. When you use "Hide My Email", Apple provides a private relay address. Market Pilot X only receives the relay email and a stable user identifier — your Apple ID credentials are never shared with us. Governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Google Sign-In (Google LLC)
Used for: Account creation and sign-in
Google Sign-In lets you authenticate using your Google account. Market Pilot X only receives your email address and display name. Your Google password is never shared with us. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
RevenueCat, Inc.
Used for: Subscription and in-app purchase management
RevenueCat processes purchase receipts from the Apple App Store to determine your subscription entitlements. We share your anonymized user ID and purchase receipt with RevenueCat. We do not share payment or billing details. Governed by RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
Vercel Analytics (Vercel, Inc.)
Used for: Anonymized usage analytics
Vercel Analytics collects anonymized, aggregated data (page views, session counts, general device information). No personally identifiable information is included. Governed by Vercel's Privacy Policy.
Neon (Neon, Inc.)
Used for: Serverless PostgreSQL database
Neon hosts our serverless PostgreSQL database where portfolio data, notification preferences, and legal consent records are stored. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit. Governed by Neon's Privacy Policy.
Market Data Providers
Used for: Real-time and historical market data
We retrieve stock quotes, financial data, and news from licensed market data APIs. These requests do not include personal data beyond an anonymous session token. Data may be delayed up to 15 minutes per provider agreements.
4. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored in the following locations:
- On your device — portfolio holdings, settings, and preferences are cached in device storage for offline access.
- Firebase Firestore (Google Cloud, US-based) — synced portfolio and preference data.
- Neon PostgreSQL — portfolio records, push tokens, notification preferences, and legal consent timestamps.
All data in transit is encrypted via TLS/HTTPS. Data at rest is encrypted by the respective storage provider. We restrict access to your personal data to authorised personnel only and do not retain data beyond what is necessary to operate the Service.
5. Push Notifications
Market Pilot X requests permission to send you push notifications for price alerts and app updates. If you grant permission:
- Your device push token is stored in our database, associated with your user ID.
- Notifications are delivered via Apple Push Notification service (APNs) on iOS and Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) on web.
- You can disable notifications at any time in your device Settings or within the Market Pilot X app under Settings → Notifications.
- Disabling notifications removes your token from our active delivery list.
6. Subscriptions & Billing
Market Pilot X offers Free, Pro, and Premium subscription tiers. Paid subscriptions are processed exclusively through the Apple App Store via in-app purchase.
- Market Pilot X never receives or stores your payment card number or Apple ID billing information.
- Subscription receipts are verified via RevenueCat and the Apple App Store.
- Your subscription entitlement (plan level and expiry) is stored in our database to gate feature access.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date via Apple ID account settings.
7. Account Data & Deletion
You may request deletion of your Market Pilot X account and all associated data at any time. Upon a valid deletion request we will:
- Delete your account record and authentication credentials from Firebase.
- Delete your portfolio data, notification tokens, and preferences from our Neon database.
- Delete your anonymized user ID from RevenueCat (which does not affect Apple App Store records).
- Remove locally stored data on your device by uninstalling the app.
To request account deletion, contact us at support@market-pilot.app from the email address associated with your account, or use the in-app Settings → Account → Delete Account option. We will process your request within 30 days.
8. Children's Privacy
Market Pilot X is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Economic Area). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we learn that a child has provided us with personal data, we will delete it promptly.
9. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Correction — request correction of inaccurate data.
- Deletion — request deletion of your account and personal data (see Section 7).
- Portability — request export of your portfolio data in a machine-readable format.
- Opt-out — disable push notifications or analytics at any time in app Settings.

10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where required by law, notify you via email or an in-app notice. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
